Uganda, “the Pearl of Africa” is an attractive and fascinating business destination for Dutch entrepreneurs. The Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) facilitates all investment issues, including licensing, project support, land acquisition; special passes for investors, etc. The highly competitive investment environment allows for complete freedom to hold 100 percent foreign ownership of  investments and free inflow/outflow of capital. Investment in Uganda offers access to the Common Market for Eastern and Southern African states (COMESA, with over 300 million people in 20 countries) and East African Community (EAC, with over 150 million people. The Dutch Embassy in Kampala together with RVO has facilitated this unique opportunity for Dutch entrepreneurs to meet Ugandan entrepreneurs, and supported by Barclays Bank Uganda.

  • Participants: 31 participants from Uganda and approx. 30 participants from The Netherlands

 

Objectives

  • Inform Dutch participants about sector-specific trends & developments in Uganda from the perspectives of Dutch entrepreneurs;
  • Matchmaking between Dutch & Ugandan entrepreneurs;
  • Inform participants about specific business opportunities per sector;
  • Develop a roadmap for Dutch entrepreneurs to Uganda.
